Original Google Phone Looked Like a BlackBerry(April,2012)

You may have been following the current Google vs Oracle court saga. Nonetheless, some very interesting information has been coming from the court room, like how Oracle wanted to buy RIM. Google was forced to reveal renders of its original Google phone prototype from 2006. Evidently, the mock-up Google phone looks strikingly similar to a BlackBerry, which was the leading device of that year.It makes perfect sense why Google wanted to copy the best, and here are some of its iffy specs:“Exact specs for those first concepts aren’t detailed, but Google does spell out what it had in mind for the least common denominator across Android devices. An ARMv9 processor of at least 200MHz, GSM (3G preferred), 64MB of RAM and ROM, miniSD (yes, mini, not micro) external storage, a 2-megapixel camera with a dedicated shutter button, USB support, Bluetooth 1.2, and a QVGA display with at least 16-bit color support.”Although, Google ended up never releasing this prototype. Instead, they went on the release the T-Mobile G1 in fall of 2008. What do you think Google Android devices would be like today if they had first released resembling a BlackBerry?via Gizmodo
