App RIM Will Give BlackBerry 10 Prototype Device to Developers at Jam Conference

RIM Will Give BlackBerry 10 Prototype Device to Developers at Jam Conference blackberry-10-logo

RIM said they would eventually offer developer devices for the BlackBerry 10 platform. Today, RIM has announced they will not only launch the BlackBerry 10 developer tools in beta, but developer attendees will receive a limited edition developer prototype device â€" the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha. However, RIM makes it clear that this is not a BlackBerry 10 smartphone â€" it is a prototype running a modified version of the PlayBook OS which will help developers design their apps for the BlackBerry 10 smartphone form factor.  It’s not the final hardware or OS â€" it’s a device to help developers get started with designing for what’s coming.

The prototype devices will only be offered to BlackBerry 10 Jam developer attendees, as it is a prototype testing device meant specifically for them. It will not be a commercial product and will not be seeded to end users or attendees of BlackBerry World. There is limited capacity for BlackBerry 10 Jam, so developers should register as soon as possible to be part of this amazing opportunity.

Quick Look: Sketch with Friends for BlackBerry PlayBook (Video) â€" a HIGHLY Addictive Game! sketch-with-friends

Currently, there is a very popular title among iOS and Android users called ‘Draw Something’. The game is a type of pictionary or charades with images. Xlabz Technologies have created a similar experience, but made it multiplayer with users who you might not know personally. Whereas, Draw Something is usually with just your Facebook friends.

Sketch with Friends is a real-time, multi-player, virtual game where your artistic, creative and vocabulary skills are put to the ultimate test. You get to join a “game room” and compete with players from all over the world. You draw something while others guess what you sketch and vice-versa. All you need to do is call upon your wits and your doodling skills and its game on.

The app does cost $1.99, but it is well worth it if you’re into highly addictive games. Sketch with Friends is also cross platform. So, you’ll see users with Android and iOS devices playing alongside you. Check out the video below and download Sketch with Friends from BlackBerry App World here.
