It is officially the BlackBerry PlayBook’s 1yr birthday today! The PlayBook was first introduced controversially on April 19th 2011, as it lacked essential native apps and even 3rd party apps when first born. Although, we must applaud it for maturing into a formidable contender in the tablet space. We congratulate all those who have worked and are currently working on the PlayBook project. Your efforts have positioned the PlayBook well and set the stage for BlackBerry 10 and beyond. We’re excited for the future and many more birthdays. Leave your birthday wishes in the comments. Who knows who from RIM might see them!

ShutUp Camera App Mutes Native BlackBerry Camera Shutter Sound(April,2012)
Devcellent Solutions let us know about their latest app for BlackBerry called ShutUp Camera. This app lets users take pictures using the BlackBerry native camera app without the shutter sound. Unlike other apps that takes low resolution screenshots to silently take pictures, ShutUp Camera lets you use the same BlackBerry Camera app but simply mutes the shutter sound. That means, you can still use all the familiar features of the native Camera App and take HI RESOLUTION photos but of course without the shutter sound. ShutUp Camera is available only for OS 7.1 devices and is reasonably priced at only $0.99 in BlackBerry App World.Download ShutUp Camera for $0.99 in BlackBerry App World
