The patent lawsuits have been piling up lately for Research In Motion. The latest comes from Seattle-based Hunter Point Ventures, who claims that RIMâs handsets violate its âmethod for musical playlist selection in a portable audio device.âThe original patent holder was Interactive Objects, who filed the US Patent 7667123 in 2001, but have since transferred it to the shell company. The playlist feature allows users to create a personal list of songs, and are common features of smartphones. It will be interesting to see how this patent lawsuit turns out.via GigaOm
