The other day N4BB member chm985 posted a forum regarding rumors of the 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook being discontinued. We hadn’t heard anything about it ourselves and put it on the back-burner. Turns out, it looks to be true given an email sent from RIM to a consumer. Why would RIM cancel the 16GB PlayBook? The likely reason is there is barely any profit on every 16GB PlayBook sold. Given the price cuts putting the PlayBook to its relative production cost, RIM is just breaking even. Another reason is that for many media-hungry users, 16GB just isn’t enough space. This brings up an interesting question regarding a 16GB variant for a 4G PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 devices. Will this mean we’ll only see 32GB and 64GB variations of these devices?Discuss this in the forumsvia CB
